Body lift Dodge Power Wagon M880 W200
To mount a bodylift on your Dodge Power Wagon has a lot advantages, the 3" lift itself is of course a rather simple method to give your truck some more lift, for me it is convenient that you have better access to everything like lines and all other difficult to reach parts, another main advantage is that there is less chance of rust between frame and body, if you want to remove all the rust from body and frame, you can reach better all small corners with for example a Dremel (or equivalent) or with a power file, you can remove one bodylift block at a time when you are busy to restore your frame and body (support this section with a piece of wood and a small Hydraulic jack), with the installation of extra cooling, external oil filters and winch wiring you have a lot of new wiring and lines that you have to mount and lead to these new parts, now you have enough space to do this, also you have plenty of room between the top of your engine and the hood, so you can mount any intake manifold, (2") spacer between manifold and carb, big carb and any aircleaner, so nothing will will make contact to your hood.

The lift between frame and body with a bodylift is the easiest way to give your truck a higher ride, there are a lot of brands that makes this product, in most cases you can choose between 2" and 3" lift blocks, any higher blocks are dangerous, 8 years ago I have choosen for the 3" blocks, they have a cylindric shape, you will have to raise your frontbumper by using new brackets, also your steering shaft will work under a different (sharper) corner, the original steering shaft (with canvass bushing connection) is not one of the best parts Dodge used when they developed these Dodge Power Wagon trucks, if you want to have a reliable solid steering shaft then choose for a made to measure steering shaft from for example "Flaming River", this steering shaft has a constant velocity joint at both ends, your rear bumper can stay in the same place, unfortunately you will get a space between your tailgate (body) and rearbumper (frame), you can solve this, for example, by putting a piece of metal between

Eight years ago when I just have bought the truck, I brought the Dodge Power Wagon M880 to a company that just started with modifying American trucks and could deliver and mount a Black Diamond 3" Body Lift to my truck, I did not have the space and the equipment to do this job myself, this year when I rebuilded the whole truck and I wanted to renew my cushions between the body and frame, I found out that the (longer) bolts they have used while installing the body lift were too thin according to the drilled holes in the body lift blocks, I drove around for years with this bolts, but I wanted renew everything so new blocks and new cushions, if you measure the exact size of your drilled holes in your body lift blocks, in my case this was about between 13 and 14 millimeters (about between a 1/2" and 9/16"), the bolts used by this company were about 10 millimeters (about 7/16"), I decided to let the bolts fit exactly to the drilled holes in the body lift blocks, especially with a 8" supsension lift the frame should be mounted to the body as strong as possible, in metric sizes I decided to drill up the holes in the body lift blocks exactly to 14 millimeters (about 9/16") and I bought also 14 millimeter bolts with the right grade, this gives me a more secure feeling with all these powers.
